Latest on Fuzon and their upcoming album
The Fuzon men are back in action. After a hiatus of 3 years, they are all set with a brand new album and tentatively slated for an April release, this is one of the most anticipated albums of the year. "Most of the album is done," says guitar whiz Shallum. "We're just mixing it in the studio and giving it finishing touches." The first video will be 'Neend Na Aaye', directed by Sohail Javed. But Fuzon has been in the news for more. Rumours of the band's splitting up have been in the air for some time too but Shallum brushes these off as insignificant. "Fuzon is not breaking up. Solo projects mean artistic freedom. Yes, I have a solo project in mind, that'll be me working with different musicians. There is so much talent out there and I see no harm in collaborating with young artists. This, however, does not mean that Fuzon's over. Our solo projects will only add value to Fuzon." And that's not the only good news. Drummer Gumby is a confirmed session player for Fuzon. "We had a professional discussion with Gumby and it was decided that if we give Gumby dates for concerts before hand, he will play with us." With Gumby as their session player, things will only pick up for this musical trio that rocked the nation with their debut album. Watch out for Fuzon because they are coming back with a bigger bang...link : http://jang.com.pk/thenews/feb2006-w...006/instep.htm

Talking about solo projects, our musicians are doing quite a lot. From Fuzon to new artists like Sajid and Zeeshan, everyone has something up their sleeve. Shallum has his solo project which will see light sometime next year, Shafqat and Immu also have their individual projects, vocalist Fawad (EP) is cast in Shoaib Mansoor's Khuda Ke Liye, Ahmed Butt (EP) has the sitcom Rubberband amongst other TV productions and Zeeshan Parwez of Sajid and Zeeshan is working on a very prominent video 'Teri Parchaiyaan' by Ali Azmat. There is the multitasking Xulfi, who is behind EP and Call, is a video director and music producer and Gumby, who apart from being a part of Noori is a session player for Fuzon. He recently played on Mekaal Hasan Band's new single 'Jhok Ranjhan'. It is a great idea because solo projects give these artists a separate entity and freedom to do whatever they want, however they want to. Being in a band isn't that easy. Solo projects give them the identity of being something other than that famous band. And hey, it also **** to their market value. And let's hope that these solo projects don't make them solo artists. EP, what say you?

Great to hear that Fuzon are releasing a new album soon, I'm eagerly waiting for it!! I do hope they won't split up, they are such a good band and it would be sad if they did...

I'm so relieved to read that Shallum has dismissed rumours hinting at Fuzon's break-up. I definitely welcome their solo productions (for instance I love Shafqat's recent solo tracks and his collaboration with Overload), because artists should always be given the opportunity of pursuing solo projects (that's a way to broaden their musical horizons and set their creativeness free, and if collaborating with young artists helps these newcomers start their career then it's just great), but still I would like Fuzon to stay together.

altho i GENUINELY want to believe shallum, i cant help but wonder, what makes this claim any different than the other ones he's made? or shafqat? or immu?! lol
i'll believe him when i finally see the album out in stores or pakmusic, thank u! and whenever that is...i hope it doesnt disappoint. cause my expectations went from BIG to ENORMOUS given all the delays.
having said that...im sure the album will be aiite - save one or two songs.

Yea....When is the SOO HYPED UP SHOAIB MANSOORS movie comming out... It carries ALOT OF expectations with it Lets see what will it give to us....
And also yea i think solo projects give the band memebers a little room for experimentation. A person like Zulfi cant be cramped down into one group as his ideas are vast and boundry less.. Hence **** to his credentials as an allrounder. No difeerent from Adul Razaq and Afridi i say

Great News.
I hope they use GUMBY with his live drumming in their album as well (and not only for their concerts, which is the impression i got from the article). That would be really great news. I mean just imagine FUZON with live drumming of GUMBY. If they havent done it so far, never too late. AHMAR kindly forward my message to them. Im sure the way fuzon promoted PPRKGD of noori, Gumby wont mind playing on their album.
Take care!!

Never mind Bro!!
I was just wondering about that. If they can produce an album similar to the first one, i wont worry too much about the live drumming ;P
Thanks anyways,
Jawad.
