Who is the best wicket keeper in Pakistan? Akmal's keeping will keep costing you matches. He drops sitters. I think he should play as a specialist batsman in test matches.

Sarfraz Ahmed for sure he is specialist keeper and his batting has improved alot in last 2 years...has played 10 ODI matches for pakistan ..then second will be Gulraiz Sadaf from multan side..

Yeah he even played for a while when Kamran was too bad at wicket keeping and the then captain Shoaib Malik was impressed by his excellent wicket-keeping. His batting is good too.

how does he stand head to head with kamran akmal? i have not seen him play and other than his first class stats dont find him out of the world really.

but none the less..we should have sarfaraz ahmed in the team...so that kamran akmal does not take his position for granted. For all i know is that his game went for a toss and only after playing sarfaraz a few games Kamran bounced back!!!

We did try sarfraz but he didn't do that good in batting. Agreed akmal drop sitters and everything. but lets be honest, there hasn't been a good keeper who can bat better than akmal. no offense but 3 back to back fifties wouldn't do nething , if he can't convert them to 100s ..

guys, relax. he dropped one frikin catch. out of all the players, he probably has the biggest adjustment to make from t20 to tests. he has to focus 100% every single ball for several hours, and this is so hard to do especially if you aren't used to it. it's no secret that our players haven't played tests in a while. and if you saw akmal's keeping in the t20 world cup, he definitely has the skills. he took great catches, and made got lot's of ppl stumped. he's a brilliant keeper. all he needs is to play a few more tests to get that mental aspect of his game straight, so that it won't be hard to focus for so long. he's an invaluable batsman, and the best keeper in pakistan. quit making threads criticising players after one drop catch, one bad performance. if he drops 3 more catches this game, and then does badly in the next test also, then you can open threads like this. for now, just be patient. inshallah, akmal will score a century when he bats to shut you guys up
