I think rarely do Paksitan play the perfect XI (mostly since Kaneria is always a wrong selection). But since he wasnt selected this match, it made the job of having the best XI all the more easier. With our squad this is exactly the XI I would have played.

Ya, a good team Younus picked..but as I think Fawad Alam has a lot more potential than Malik in batting it would have been better if he played Alam instead of Malik...but still Malik has a good record against Sri Lanka and I think he will play a big innings in this match...good selection by Younus..

Malik is good fielder ,handy bowler and well suited in No-5 position in test matches .

Fawad is excellent player but he need to prove himself in ODI And T-20 first .

Yes, but Fawad Alam looks more promising than Malik..dunno about your view.
And Malik is a handy bowler? Certainly not in Tests..average of 72 and strike rate of 126 is terrible..dunno what you are trying to say..

I hope he improves his bowling though as he was a very good bowler at the start of his career.

Very good move..I was thinking about this as well at the beginning of this series but I don't know whether Younus will leave out Razzaq then...
Well, the reason he could give is that we have already 3 pacers and we need another good proper batsman in the team.
Manzoor doesn't seem to be someone who is going to be successful for Pakistan in the long term.
Malik has done well opening on subcontinental pitches...if Manzoor fails in the second innings again it might happen that Fawad gets his place in the team.
Because seriously...Fawad Alam deserves a proper chance and a place in the team more than Manzoor..doesn't he?

butt aint a test player...aint good enough...youusf aint played for a while......fawad alam should obviously be in...malik only bowled 3 overs....even yonis bowled more....see with younis bowling ....malik is useles....

How should Fawad obviously be in? How in the blue world do you fit him into the test team? You take out Younis? No. You take out Yousuf? No. You take out Misbah? No. You take out Malik? No.

This Fawad Alam dilemma is becoming so piss taking, seriously. Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player and deserves a chance but 24/7 people crying for his inclusion makes you little irritated. Why can't for once we show thumbs up for the playing XI?

Malik is not better than Younus, Yousuf or Misbah.. Why are you questioning him in the end?
Malik is worse than these three and he has no technique..Fawad Alam seems to have better technique than him but how will we be able to judge if he doesn't get any chances? I say drop Manzoor and include Fawad Alam..and open with Malik in case he performs(and Manzoor doesn't) in this match. He has already proven that he is opening material. If Malik doesn't perform at all drop him..Younus will most probably drop Malik if he doesn't perform in this Test match..apart from that 148 vs SL he hasn't done anything great in Test Cricket so far.

Shahid Afridi on the other hand has already scored 5 centuries(Malik has 1) in his 26 matches in Test cricket...Malik has played 23 matches until now.

Regarding the first part...I never said Malik is better than those players but he is arguably a better choice than Fawad. You cannot drop Malik and replace him with Fawad...thats pretty crazy.

As for the second part...dropping Manzoor and opening with Malik to fit Alam in. Well this is not limited overs cricket. Or else we could also be opening the bowling with Razzaq .
