Oh now now! Hira Stop jumping with excitement, it is just another good band on the block nothing more! I often wonder if being a good Band in today’s music is a small deal. What should a band have to be, to be labeled “good” in present Pakistani music scenario? The answer is, How in the world am I suppose to know? If I talk about Vocals. The question arises, is Overload a good band? If I say, ok Music and arrangement is the key! Then the question arises Why are unplugged and acapella versions of songs so much loved? So in the end, I would say: Drop it Hira! You are here to talk about a new band on the block! The name is Raeth (Sand). Oh yes I know, strange way of spelling such a simple word but when simple “Z” is being replaced by complicated and unprofessional looking “X” one can only say “Fair enough”. At least they did not push in an X in there. It could simply have been “Rait” but ok suit yourselves. So Raeth is out with their debut Single Video “Bhula do”. It is obviously taking people in masses. I personally am very impressed! It is brilliant for a debut.
The song is very nice and by nice I do not mean to be nice but am trying to state the fact that it is very nice! Confused? Don’t worry so am I! Bhula do hits me as a very mature song! Though in the video it revolves around college friends who are I guess trying to have fun but the song is as serious as one can be! The vocalist seems very serious, his eyes closed and such concentration on singing though we all know better than that. I liked the attitude, the seriousness and the stress. The zabardasti had its impact honestly, I kept on thinking ok Now I want to forget something, but what should it be? I don’t have many “yaadain purani Jo dil ko jalati raheen” you see, a pretty peaceful life! Oh perhaps I can forget some of the reviews I did for some particular female. I don’t know!
The keen vocals and the feel they give to the song is remarkable, Vocalist has done a brilliant job. He is the penetration behind the whole song. This certainly does not mean that the rest of the song is not good. It is amazing, I like the drums especially. All the effects are right in their places. The song just carries you through, and kinda shows you what it really wants to show you in an abstract way. Time, place, situations, emotions and moving on are the theme of the song. The video does it full justice. Seriously! Though I myself did not get the video or its theme properly but it somehow fits! It is hard for me to imagine the song without the video. Which is I think the success of the video. I hope many would agree with that! The arrangement of the song is some what typical, but the composition is amazing and totally compliments the whole song. It is different and serious and very mature indeed. A job well done by the newbees! I am lovin it!

Ok now down to the video. It is confusing but not unpleasant. In fact I would really take this opportunity to congratulate Jalal (director of the video of Bhula do and many other ultra popular videos) for the amazing execution and a perfect harmonial affect in his videos. Every should have a video made by Jalal! Hehe! Ok I am not advertising for him or anything I just like his work a lot. Copied or original I do not really care. As long as it blends in and is pleasant to the eyes and the mind! The sets are amazing. The Big clock in the back ground I think is the depiction of the theme of time in the video of Bhula do! The perfect colours are used. Blue is cool! Not that I am saying his previous Blacks greens, reds, and pinstripes were bad or anything. He just has a wonderful way of handling the sets and the backgrounds.
The video does not present the viewer with a very clear story board. It simply brushes by and somehow in some weird way transmits the idea and understanding of itself, the theme and the song into ones mind. The idea of college friends sitting and trying to have fun can only be sad if stored in the memory if all in present are dead, but I doubt if that is the case. It is just sort of inexplicable for me! Wardrobe! Oh yes as being a female I do notice clothes a lot. Munib at last has made me perfectly happy! Good job and good clothes. jackets were very nice. Ok is it just me? Or does everyone think, I am obsessed with jackets? I seem to notice them a lot but well they are fine! Really nice! Munib thankfully enough has not tried his contemporary explorations in the clothing for Raeth this time! Thank you! I still am Horrified by some costumes he has presented in the past (Xulfi’s Purple Jacket in BKB, Ahsan’s Yellowish costume in telefun Video…grrrrr…) but this time he spared us! Overall the video is Amazingly done! Dull and subtle. No outrageousness! The Vocalist like his cousin has really proved himself a great vocalist. Ok now I am not going to tell the name of his cousin who is in the same industry I guess I will keep every one guessing of course except the people who already know. To those who already don’t spoil it ok? Anyways! Time for the rating!

Gets a Straight and generous 9 out of 10. Oh yes I am just trying to get well wishes for my life Changing air journey that I am about to make in a few days, destination Lahore! Anyways. I gave it a 9 because I am in love with it! If someone has an objection Talk to my superiors (plz..dont get me fired!) Raeth with my best wishes for the future will make it Big indeed! Wishing you best of luck forever! Do u think you can possibly spell your band name in a better way? If not then never mind! I am a “spellomaniac”. Hira is signing off now!
