SHOAIB FARRUKH: Meri Maa – Exclusive Introductory review By Hira Fatima:
Its amazing! Absolutely amazing, to see so many new artists coming in the music industry and showing off their talent. Its amazing to see that only the best of the best is getting the rightful place, its amazing to see another singer cum musician like Shoaib Farrukh on the block. Oh yes! Its amazing alright, he is amazing, I am amazed. Oh my I sound so “star struck” but you see, I am star struck, but then again, I always am, so never mind! No people this is not that joke where you read the sentence after removing the Common word (in this case “amazing”) and come up with a simpler sentence saying, “this reviewer is Bunterz”. Ok too much of joking around. Allow me to give a short intro of the “Hero”(Pakistani hero I mean) under the Reviewer’s microscope.
Shoaib has been involved in the music scene for a little while now. Creating some serious sonic waves along with his father Farrukh Abid, bringing us a bundle of amazing OST tracks such as Aas Paas, Chandni, Koi Lamha Gulab Jaisa, Matti, Tum Mere Ho, etc. which are on air on different TV channels every now and then. I don’t really know what took him so long in coming on the front himself. Oh well! As long as he is up front, no regrets.
Meri Maa was a special Mother’s day release on Geo Tv. Its never too late, too out of place or too uncalled for, to tell our mothers how much we love them and how much we care for them! Obviously not half as much as they do for us, but close enough. Shoaib speaks for us all! A very sensitive choice for the debut. Honestly this guy knows how to squeeze out a good review from me! Don’t we all just love our Moms?? Oh yes we do!
Ok! Now critically speaking, no matter how mesmerizing the song is the fact remains that the composition is not very original. A little disappointing! I would have wanted something more original to dedicate to my mother, but as long as this is as beautiful as it is, I think I will just carry on with it. The mixing is just Amazing! The tablas were the perfect sound for the beat of course. The ascend and descend of the song has a great Impact on the listener, Flutes were also a very sweet addition, but my favorite part of the whole song were the Vocals. Shoaib has done an amazing job with the double tempo. Too sweet! Lyrics by Inam-Ur-Rahman also do justice. Over all it’s a whole combo! everything is right in its place. On the point of execution, Farrukh Abid took it away!
Moving on to the Video. A sweet experience from start to end. The images of Mothers with their children, and the word Mother in so many different languages! Its just so sweet. Made me miss my Mom a lot, as she is not with me at the time. Though I will be with her soon enough but still…Ammi Ji! The softness of the video is just very touching. No story telling no nothing like that! Thanks a lot for not having a story board! All the songs related to Mothers usually have that jumble up! Thanks a lot for not doing that! Obviously Sohail Javed is a maestro when it comes to that! A wonderful concept, a pure tribute to all mothers! Very soft images. The photography of the video is also very budging, lighting, production, creative support (though I don’t exactly know what that means!) is all very nice.
Ok! Sajno tay Bailiyon! Its time for me to rate. And you all know how generous I am in that respect. Alright I admit I am bragging!
Gets a chic 8.5/10. I just can not rate Handsome faces less. What to do?? Come on now! Amazing Musical talent, sensuous vocals and a soft handsome face, he is a dream come true for many yaar! I am not saying just me ok! Well seriously. This is just too touching. Just couldn’t let it go by like that! As for Shoaib, I am expecting great things from you. So better not miss out! And I hope your Mother is very proud of you! Ciao for now!
