Annie (Princess) Exclusive Video Review By Hira Fatima:



Now this is a very pleasant disposition. I don’t know why? I don’t know how? I don’t know when or where? I thought to myself, that after the last review that I did for Annie I would not do another one but it seems. I was not quite able to harness my temptation to grab hold of my softy notepad and start taking pointers for Annie’s new Video for the song Princess when I saw it on Air on The Musik.

Well! Tada…here you are with a new review mate for the Princess, oh! What was that expression I chose last time? Oh yes! “Bigri Hoey Princess”. Ah! Man come on! People call me Drama queen. I do not take it on heart and no, I do not have any future plans of coming up with an album named Drama Queen, and embarrass myself to death as my friend has. Oh yes! I am very dignified and seriously and frankly, It is not my time to die yet!

Ok enough of the boring talk. Lets come down to the beautiful and bouncy trouncy Annie. After the huge success of Mahiya (the huge success of “thumka” if I may be bold enough to say) comes another attempt. Personally I am a big fan of Sohail Javed. He has done wonders with many video. Princess, being my favorite song in the album, fell short of the extraordinary video that it so deserved! The beat and the theme all suggested glitter and shimmer and gold and atleast a Crown! Unfortunately, Sohail Ji kinda sorta has a bit too mature and dull approach! I know one thing for sure. There were only two directors who could have done justice to my imagination, those are Kamran Yar Kami with his Goriye….or Jalal with his brilliant sets and sassy mover Videos such as Jimmy Attre’s. Annie darling you chose an uncle to make the video I am sorry to say. Sohail Javed has a bit too mature an approach to his videos which is not always a good thing! Princess got straightened out! She was way too Naughty I guess and the Head master had to straighten her out. But the thing is, I like the bouncy naughty Princess. That is the only thing there is in Annie who falls a little back when it come to real singing talent! Please why did u have to take that away from us??? Hira feels so disillusioned!



Ok the video as I mentioned is a little dull than what most people would have expected. The song (ignoring the fact that it has Annie’s vocals in it) had the potential to be made into a chart- topping video but it just kind of drags on with dull sand dark sets. Annie’s wardrobe is also not extraordinary, it could have been amazing! I only like one set where in the back ground there is a turquoise shimmery things. That was the only worth while set that actually was a little missing piece of the video that I had in mind. Never mind, the damage is done. McClay as always looks great in the video. The background with wheel rim covers is also very nice, very funky, but that is all there is to it. Annie falls short of the seductive looks. She looks amazing as usual and its all a known fact that she is very sweetly pretty, but why in the world is it all so dull? I just cannot get past the dullness. What was the team thinking when coming up with the concept. why ruin such a beautiful song??? Annie! Yaar tumharay saath Hand ho gaya hai Qasmay! Seriously all the potential of making it so shiny and giving Annie a chance to shimmer went down the drain, as a friend of mine often uses in these kind of situations…BOOOO:tdown:

Not to mention the disappointment that will be found in Annie’s Fans (99% guys) after watching such a spectacular song given into the hands of MMA or something? :confused:



Ok enough of it all! I am sorry I got a little carried away. I was looking forward to writing a review in which I would not be criticizing the poor thing, but it seems that even the Maestros miss out notes. *sigh*. Sohail Javed, doesn’t matter what a big fan I am of yours I am not going to hold back My disappointment in this respect. I do not think that this song deserved such a Video!

The direction of photography is good. Editing is also very good. The choreography is decent. Which I think though not necessarily needed was a good thing! You might accuse me of comparing it too much with my own imagining but I am writing this review. I am going to do whatever I want to do…Ahooo..! Wardrobe is not very amazing. Its very dull. Annie could have done better with pinks and purples and other shiny vibrant colours. The sets could have done with the same colours. You know, strange thing the human mind is, the terrible shocking pink set that was used in Shiraz Uppal’s Saiyaan Ve, could have been very successfully used in Annie’s video instead! I just hope the didn’t get mixed up with the makers. Oh well…. That is the end of it doesn’t it??



Time to rate the video. Gets an unhappy 7.5 on the scale of 10. the video is still of good quality and the photography is amazing. So off u go Annie. You should now be thankful that I gave your Video of the song Half a more mark than your song! I hope in the future, Annie comes up with another song like princess and then get an amazing video made. Until then best of luck and keep practicing!

So far the only song by her I had listened to was Mahiya, and I agree with Hira on this one being better. Mahiya was weakly catchy, it lacked something in my opinion (I'm not talking about its quality, I mean that its purpose was to be catchy but in the end it was not that catchy in my opinion). This one is much better. I don't mind the dark colours, yes the video is a bit dull, but in my opinion its biggest flaw is her red dress. She looks fatter in it, I don't like it at all :p

hira i was expecting some real motivating words from u for the anti-annie fans. seriously from the first time i saw her it was like "her talab ki ek gandi machli, this time in the form of annie". She shld really stop singing, she'd better start doing our comedy stage dramas. She'll earn more respect in those than our mzk industry. After her entrance in msk scene, i've started liking even the most pathetic musicians from different parts of the world.

If anyone saw that episode of "ISPY" the last week. The host I guyss Nini, when she was giving the 10 uses of Annie's album, so called Princess. I was like jumping around and laughing. When she said, Hey Bush! If you guys have the Nuvlear Bomb, Do remember we've Super Sonic Bomb in the form of Annie's Princess.

Anywayz if someone who personally knows Annie. Tell her to quit singing and do something like " kisi Govt. School ke bahir phutta daal ker mooliyaan becha kare ". Thats the best i can suggest to a pathetic singer.
