Song Review:
Xenu : (Saiyaan Saiyaan) (8/10)
There is no doubt about the fact that the Pakistani music industry has been coming up with a whole array of new promising artists. Youngsters with talent belonging to different back grounds are coming out from their hideouts with hopes of making it in the mainstream. With the help of Major platforms, good talent is getting the place and popularity it is supposed to get. Then again, many of us have some complains with the new artists, which actually are very fair, that is the effort they are putting into there music. Well as hard as it will be to cope with, we cannot deny the fact that artists like mekaal Hassan or Ahmed Jehanzeb are once in a life time artists, they are not born everyday. Still it will be unfair to say, that the new artists are not doing well. Good music is being generated because of the extreme competition.
Xenu is No Exception. Young, talented and ambitious. The guy has it all! Its amazing that he has no background what so ever in the music world. Its all his natural talent that pours out in his music and all the listeners start “Jhooming” their heads. My prophecy, Will be a big favorite in the ladies! What? I like him for starters. Music forecast says, will make a breakage in the mainstream with a bang, not a squeak! 19 years of age and so much up his sleeve, awestruck. I don’t know about others, he made a fan out of me!
His Debut Single, Saiyaan saiyaan is going be under chop chop, Would not spoil the surprise of my ratings for him.
Saiyaan Saiyaan:
Would please some body tell me, How utterly romantic a song can get? And contestant number 200 posts, you are right, Saiyaan Saiyaan is the right answer! Absolutely over whelming I must say especially as a debut song! From start till end, it does not break its trance, not for a second even! Hard to believe?? Hear it to believe it
Xenu’s vocals are mesmerizing, a very masculine but soft voice! An absolute pleasure for the ears. The softness and the clarity is fantastic. It is his voice that makes me think of so many artists at once, Clarity of Haroon’s, softness of Junaid Jamshed and delivery of Shiraz Uppal. All these characteristics are there in his voice, yet Xenu stands out, as distinguishable, as a diamond in the rough! I would not say that he is perfect, but he is very near to it and everyone should consider it a huge compliment coming from as evil a person as I am!
The next thing that amazed me was the fact that the lyrics are by Xenu as well! Would not call lyrics perfect but they are also very near. Sensible, to the point and ultra romantic. The lyrics actually brought out the real beauty of the song, making it compliment the composition.
This Song has it all, the perfect combination of modern music with classical. I was extremely glad to hear long forgotten instruments like “sitar” in the music. It is a revival of an era that has for long been sleeping. Without a doubt classic instruments are still a whole music combo with in themselves. Imdad has played it wonderfully and it totally blends with another conventional instrument such as the flute, that is also contributing in the song and is played by Sajid Ali. This perfect blend between so many works of perfect artists brings out an Illuminating song, that straightaway captures the heart and stays there for …well….quite a while! A kangan shangan approach of the song makes it traditional yet very boldly romantic.
Natural beauty of an individual (name not disclosed) is under concentration, magnified maybe at least 10 times by the love and the romantic weather, which surrounds the addresser and the addressee. Ok now I sound jealous! But for all the people who think sunny days are romantic, this rainy day song will change your mind. It whispers and gasps, it says so many things unsaid, if you know what I mean! And if you don’t understand, better leave it that way because your time hasn’t come yet most probably! Sajid Ali Has come up with a very good composition, though it has a little Indian touch to it. As long the female’s name is not disclosed, it is forgiven! At point of execution, Vicky Haider has done a great job, as the song sounds terrific.
Last but not the least of one’s worries, the time has come to rate the song, along with its soft beat, longing vocals and sophisticated composition and palette of instruments, this song now also has a Pakmusic.net rating. Gets a 8 out 10. Yes a 8. Call it favoritism, bias or whatever! The song is appealing and will leave any girl wishing that the “Name” is never disclosed, if it is not herself (jk)! Me, Hira Fatima, Personally will be waiting anxiously for the Video. Hope to see great things by you Xenu, Better not let me down! Best of luck for an already bright future!

the song is nice.... doesnt sound very genuine... I have heard songs like these from indian mainstream... I prefer artist to bring out their uniqueness rather than adapting styles from others. Ofcourse you need to have a start point somewhere but I am gonna see how his other songs are??
The song is nice but I hope he brings more uniqueness in his songs in the future.

Its all fine and dandy that the quality of the music is great etc etc but the question I keep asking myself is that why do 90 % of our musicians only keep singing about the bloody sanams. If they could put their considerable talent towards using their musical lyrics as a social commentary it would put things in a better perspective allowing them to be more beneficial to society
